comment Google Chrome crashes when I type in a URL with something already in the bar
Do you hit enter after adding the "/" or does it crash without hitting enter? Also, can you give an example of one of the URLs?

comment Why is my internet connection so slow after using (and uninstalling) the BitTorrent client?
So, for a relative newcomer to bittorrenting, how do I tell if my IP address is still in the tracker? I have kept the torrent files on my hard drive - should I delete those too? Is that where the problem might still be?

I only just noticed this: "This question is very far afield from software". Really? Google Wave is very far afield from software? Wow! Ok.

Well, I want to use this site, but this is just silly. I guess I should have specified that I was referring to the Google Wave that you use on a computer, not the other ones. Oh well.

Well, I can see that one of my (public) waves has the link: wave.google.com/wave/…. But is that the fixed, canonical link? That "#restored" implies to me some sort of state that may be only temporary

comment Export podcasts from iTunes as OPML, or some other way?
Worked a treat, thanks. And if anyone is stuck on how to import that OPML file back into iTunes (because there is no corresponding right-click option to Import Podcasts), simply drag the OPML file into the Podcasts window and away you go. The only pain is that iTunes will assume that you have not downloaded the latest versions of any of your subscriptions, and will start to do so.

comment How do you permanently stop a particular podcast episode downloading in iTunes?
I must be blind - I never noticed that you could right-click Delete (or just 'Delete' button) the individual episode, as you suggested. Tried it, and it worked. Thanks

The problem is I want to ignore the latest episode of a particular podcast. I don't see the option to delete it on the podcasts page if I right-click the episode. I don't want to switch to manual mode for that podcast, I just want it to skip the one I'm not interested in and not have to keep telling it that every time!

The options in that dialogue apply only to the podcast in general. I need the option to skip a single episode on an ad hoc basis, and have it remember that, without having to do it each time. You would think it would appear in the context menu of the item either on the Podcasts page or the Download page.
