Unfortunately Chrome and recent versions of Opera have the same problem. Apparently old versions of Opera (before version 9 I believe? Or 7?) could do this, but it seems to have been dropped.

Nope, this is simply how the "Save page as > format" option is stored behind the scenes. 0 = web page only, 1 = web page complete, etc.

I saw regexr but couldn't find the "replace" option. Looking at it again, there's a massive bar at the bottom marked "substitution" - should do the job! Will try it

+1 Nice. Couple of differences from regexs I'm used to: 1) use * instead of .* to get all. *? seems to work like non-greedy .*?. 2) for me, ^ and $ for start and end of string seemed to cause it to match nothing
