I agree with ChrisF, you could see if it is a root kit or boot kit that is still hooked. TDSSKiller which is linked above will detect both. Run it on this machine.

comment How do I make an external hard drive keep the same drive letter permanently?
Andy, don't know if you resolved the "I" drive share issue. If not, I'll post something up on how to share it. edit: Added it anyway.

You can use net use without putting in a drive letter. Just omit the drive letter and add the username and password.

comment Terminal Server - Task Manager disapears Windows 2003 Server
My thoughts. A number of Viruses have this behavior. Wouldn't be a bad idea to do a scan. Also, if you right click it in the notification area try turning off Always on Top (this probably won't do anything, but hey, it's an option). When you right click Task Manager on it's minimized state on the taskbar is the move option available? If so, maybe it is on a phantom monitor, use arrow keys to move back. I'm guessing you have tried the Restore option and the Maximize option from the right click menu? Have you tried start > run > taskmgr when task manager is minimized?

comment Printing on a PC - Can I set up multiple profiles for the same printer?
Yep, I do this all the time with color printers, so one can use B&W or color without having to change the profiles.

comment can't access google.com from home network
Do you have access to other web sites at that time? If it is all of your home machines it sounds like a DNS issue. What router are you using? Maybe try changing up the Primary and Secondary DNS on your router. Make note of the old ones and then put in googles public DNS entries: primary 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4. Or try open DNS public DNS entries: primary 208.67.222.222 and secondary 208.67.220.220.

comment Delete using background color Photoshop
You don't need the delete key, instead as Jon suggested press CTRL+Backspace for background color. For Forground color ALT+Backspace.

comment How to boot from DVD when BIOS doesn't seem to give the option to change the boot source?
Could be that you have one of those odd keyboards that requires you to hold a Fn or F key down before you press F2. I've only one that required this, a Lenova. Usually the bios disregards these "fancy" keyboards, but not always.
