comment How to get rid of screen tearing
I was able to get my hands on a nvidia 660ti-it seems like the higher fps permits much less tearing to occur, but it still does occur. The monitor's refresh rate is 59 hertz not the standard 60. That's probably the issue.

Power supply has 550W with a 12 V rail. How would I check if the memory is overheating? The case is pretty cool whenever I feel it.

The system in question currently has a dual monitor setup. The other monitor shows now issues, but it has very low resolution, 1440x900.

@techie007, with flash, only in full screen mode; in games most resolutions.

@slhck, I wasn't actually using cut--I was trying to formulate some complex command. Should have gone with my actual command.

@slhck, I've updated the question to contain my original command. Find can't do everything. Can find filter by date? For example, how would one delete the 10 newest downloaded files.

Hennes I couldn't use find since one of the etc commands was a tail which sorted my files by date.

comment Are there any recommendations for optimal placement of the computer monitor within a room?
I would think that if the monitor is placed, say, in the middle of the room, every time you look slightly off the monitor your depth of vision has to switch from near-sighted to far-sighted, which gives your eyes some sort of workout every now and then.
