comment Download file vis curl but not with wget
@DopeGhoti The file.txt does contain the contents of the file and not an error page in curl. Curl definitely works and wget doesn't.

One thing is that these are 403 errors. This means that the server understood my request, and denied it anyway. In curl a bad password gives me a 401 error, in wget it doesn't make a difference. Both worked when no password was required.

Nope. Using --http-user and --http-password didn't make a difference.

comment Can you redirect output of a process on one system to a file on another system?
Of course, ssh! It does take STDIN. @MariusMatutiae - Yup, this is dangerous, but it does show this is possible.

comment Move an off-screen window back on-screen on Mac OS X
This worked for X-Lite when everything else failed. There was no "Zoom" in X-Lite and changing the display scale didn't work since X-LIte was on another display entirely.

comment How to connect to a remote computer from Windows cmd.exe
You're going from Windows, but to what system? Is it a Linux box? You may need to install some sort of ssh program on your Windows box. Otherwise, use net use share to connect the remote share to your computer. You can even use a drive letter.

comment vim can not execute unix command with :! due to shell changing
You can also put set shell=/bin/bash inside of VIM. That way, you can keep your shell, but use BASH in VIM and avoid the ! issues. However, I see that OP prefers bash anyway, so your solution will not only solve the VIM issue, but give OP their preferred shell.
