comment Virtualmin cPanel backup migration failed
I forget how I solved this, but I ended up just getting cPanel in the end; virtualmin just wasn't worth the headache despite being free.

update: this solved the problem; the other errors were fixed by restoring another sql backup.

I log in with sftp in fact, so at least that's good. And my password is really, really long and complicated But I think I will ultimately disable the access.

comment Is it particularly necessary to install an SSL certificate on a new cPanel installation on a dedicated server?
startssl is free, true. And that's great. The oonly downside besides slighly lower security (Still Better Than Nothing) is that you have to renew it and reinstall a new one every 30 days. I used it before and it's a pain in the butt to renew and reinstall every 30 days. THey know this and hope you get annoyed and upgrade. Still a great service though being FREE (in money, not time.. may be more expensive if the time each month is worth more than $0.75 (75 cents) per month, which in other words, if you take more than 90 seconds/mo @ $30/hr you might as well pay $9/year and it's way cheaper.
