Even then, it seems like I may not be in luck. When you say any ethernet card made in the last 10 will support vlans, does that also go for wireless cards and VLAN IDs?

Are you sure? I saw screenshot of a device in device manager and it had a property in Advanced for VLAN ID. My broadcom device has a property in Advanced called No Description with a value of 11. Is this the VLAN ID?

My BIOS doesn't have this option :( It thus seems like I have 2 choices - BIOS upgrade/flash, and if that fails, mobo upgrade.

I've checked this. Max memory is not checked and thus greyed and set to 0.
