comment Is it possible to boot a Craig CLP281 netbook from a USB stick?
Thanks Bon. See this link too, which talks about using a debian image and VNC in some way I don't understand: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392593

comment How do I revert back to official Linksys firmware from dd-wrt on WRT56G2 v1?
Someone made a comment that started "Reset removes all settings entirely. The CFE (the", but it has since been deleted. I think because it was attached to an answer from David that he has since deleted. Care to repost it? That's all I can see of the comment in the email alert.

I tried updating the DD-WRT firmware. The router only has 2MB of flash RAM and doesn't support Tomato or other free firmwares. I'm a little wary of putting the Linksys firmware back on because it seems tricky to get rid of it again afterwards. After updating it seemed like the problem was fixed - for 3 whole hours. I left IPerf running every 10 minutes overnight: pastebin.com/RvNBDWk5 - it's fine for 3 hours, then bad for 3 hours, then I woke up and reloaded the router config web page which fixed it again. As you can see it's not a gradual decline, it's sudden when it fails.

@Spiff Thanks. But I don't think it's actually rebooting. I've scripted an alias to 'wget' post the request to the router to 'fix' it. It takes about 4 seconds to get the request through the router, and a further 4 seconds before I'm able to use the network again, at regular speeds. I doubt it can reboot in 4 seconds. I also don't appear to lose connection to it at any point. The network-manager applet icon doesn't change at any point. It is an old DD-WRT install. I'm scared to update because then I lose the settings, but guess I'll try. Thanks again.
