comment If a Windows cmd.exe is running with elevated privileges does anything I execute from its prompt also run with elevated privileges?
@IanC. It is possible to run a child process with less privileges. I should have phrased my previous comment as "supposed to inherit by default". I have amended my answer to include that information. However, Notepad should have inherited administrative privileges.

Apart from empirical testing, Windows processes are supposed to inherit permissions from the parent.

comment how to parse watch command output to last 5 digits?
Well, that particular regex test will break, but it's still technically possible to use regex to parse ifconfig output. Simply use bytes: as the anchor string, which should be constant.

Uhm... Could you please edit the question for better grammar? I can't really understand it, and I assume you can as you have provided an answer.

comment Is it possible to make truecrypt 100% portable by using vmware thinapp?
@ScottChamberlain Well, not all. There are some VM programs that do full software emulation (e.g. qemu). Actually, I think VirtualBox might work with 32-bit, though you wouldn't be able to install the network drivers.

comment How to simulate two computers connected with LAN when you have only one computer?
@AnishaKaul virtualbox networking => virtualbox.org/manual/ch06.html <= take a look at internal and host only, since you should not need to access it from other computers on the host's physical network.

@Darius VM software often has a host-only/internal (or maybe even NAT) mode which would be good enough for internal testing, as long as you don't need to access it from an external network. But I really don't want to go into specifics, especially without knowing more about his situation or what VM software will be used.

What? Set up a virtual machine, set up networking depending which VM software you are using, plenty of guides, etc.. There's a reason I posted that as a comment and not an answer, but even as an answer I'd expect you to be able to search for yourself given a nudge in the right direction, not a step by step guide. A step by step guide to setting up VM networking would likely be closed as a duplicate anyway.

Probably use one (or two, if you want to isolate from your host environment) virtual machines. Alternatively, you might be able to get away with just using different ports on loopback (or configuring routing such that a private IP is locally routed back to loopback).

@ScottChamberlain The OP said: The tones are right, but this sound is made with a piano. It is also of very bad quality, sounding a little fuzzy on headphones.

comment Animated GIF stops working after opening and saving in Photoshop
@Youss Ah, there we go! Just right click all frames in the timeline and select Dispose. The quality could use some work, but here it is: i.stack.imgur.com/LxM1W.gif - some dithering could fix the jagged edges, but that's not too effective if you don't know what the background colour will be. (the transparency for some reason does not work on Firefox's grey image background, but it's fine with an actual background)

@Youss Unfortunately, I'm having trouble getting Photoshop to redraw the background, so there's traces being left from the previous frame (and the anti-aliasing looks a but ugly), but here's a sample: i.stack.imgur.com/DULcC.gif
