I had a similar problem with a different dell monitor recently. It was fixed by a "factory reset" in the configuration.

based on your other question, i have to wonder if you are using the -ss 5 option when you didn't mean to. You might try coyping it out to a WAV first, maybe there is something weird with the ogg or avi muxers.

hope this helps. Also, be aware that you need to be aware of both network paths - you might take a different return path than your sending path. The simplest way to do this would be to traceroute in both directions, assuming you can log in to a host on the far end to run traceroute.

You are correct, the Internet2 Detective software has gone the way of the dodo.

setting up an NDT server requires a kernel patch, but just about any system can run the NDT client.

comment In wireless networks what does DTIM do, and can it increase wireless network performance?
realize i'm resurrecting this from the dead...but for the benefit of any future readers, Vilx is wrong that ARP and DHCP are "not an issue for [him/her]." Short of hard-coding ethernet MAC addresses on every device, any ethernet or wifi network requires ARP to work at all. I bet your droid uses DHCP too, although i'm sure you could somehow put a static ip address on it.
