You mean RDP? That's what was doing it to my clipboard. Once I closed my RDP session, clipboard came back.

I realize I was unclear in the original post. "bash script.sh" works fine, but "sudo bash script.sh" does not, it tells me "command not found" for ruby. Thank you for your input, and if you have any other suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

If you mean "sudo service /etc/init.d/mydaemon start", I just tried that (when sitting in /etc/init.d/), and got "/etc/init.d/mydaemon: unrecognized service".

MAN I wish that had worked, but it didn't. Is there someplace I can look at a log file that might tell me what went wrong.
