comment Unable to login using ssh PuTTY
If you are not being given "wrong passphrase" and asked to try again, then your password should be correct. Do you have any firewalls running on the machine that could be inhibiting the port you're using for SSH (22, by default)? If there are, does disabling them (temporarily) and trying again fix the problem?

comment Electricity speed and data transfer
This is by no means an answer, and I am not a physics professor, but there is an interesting discussion on the speeds of electricity here that may be useful to you. And as a note of interest, check into some "powerline" ethernet adapters - they allow you to share gigabit ethernet across the power grid in your home/office etc, at full gigabit speeds. I can't think of a good way to compare the speeds of the two, but maybe there is someone here who can explain the concepts involved.

comment Estimated power draw for different power states?
I'm afraid there isn't much to go on with that information. What is the PSU wattage (eg 600W)? What model of C2D is it (newer versions use less wattage, and are more efficient)? What graphics cards (if any) are installed? How many optical drives/HDD's do you have (not so important if we know PSU wattage)?

comment Unmount One hard-drive and re-mount it as another directory in Unix
Yes, but he didn't say what exactly he wanted to backup. If the second drive will be an almost mirror of the first drive, it would probably be better to use RAID anyway. It isn't like the second drive would be detached from the host when not being used to backup, so it doesn't offer any advantages over a RAID implementation (unless it is a partial backup, and the rest of the free space might be used to store other things).

comment Super High Ping Rates to Router (That randomly happen)
If it works longer when it is unplugged than it does when it is plugged in, it may very well be the ATA adapter/VoIP package, but as I said, it does seem quite unlikely it would only affect one machine. If you can try it, then that's probably where I would head next.

How long did you test it for when the ATA adapter was unplugged? If it can work for days when it is connected, does it work for a longer period of time when the adapter is not connected?

So unplug the ATA adapter and see if the problem goes away? I think it is more likely to be a computer-related issue than device related, due to it only affecting one computer though.

A good way to test this would be taking the wireless adapter from the computer nearest the router (the working one) and trying it in the one you are having problems with. If no other wireless devices are experiencing problems, it is more likely you have a bad adapter than your VoIP solution is randomly affecting only one computer.
