BSOD upon booting XP Pro x86 after dual partition install of XP Pro x86 and W7 Pro x64 @user7625: Is it recovery console functionality that you have to work with or just a method to backtrack/restore previous state(s)? You can always use VM checkpoints. |

How can I fix a website that doesn't work on my computer? Can you be more specific as to what doesn't work. You might need to update IE, or flash, or java, or any number of things. |

USB drivers installed twice Windows should tell you what's faulty about it in the Device Status box under properties for it in device manager. That error information could be helpful here, otherwise I can't think of anything other than what Tog mentioned. |

Reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate? Be careful checking your RAM speed... most tools (I use Speccy) show the speed that the RAM is running at... not its max speed. For power savings, IIRC, RAM will often be down-clocked when not needed. Fiddling with RAM timings can be a headache. My advice is almost always to set the mobo to auto and leave it be. |

Why is access to my web site is slow for me but fast for other visitors? My access to other sites is fast try a tracert to your site... there could be a dying switch somewhere. If it's your ISP's then you can call them and let them know. |

How important is having 64-bit programs on 64-bit OS? @Michael Steele is right. The max available memory for the system is typically 3.12GB, the rest is reserved for addressing hardware. For a more detailed account see here: support.microsoft.com/kb/929605 |

run as dialog always pops up @Daisetsu: The account has permissions, because I can use the account in the run as dialog without problems, but it always asks. I suspect there might be a user account reg setting for all .exes. |

Window7 troubleshooting .exe is not opening @Sim: You noted that 'the .exe association is corrupted' and the title of the linked article is 'Restore the .exe file association in Windows Vista...' - it also applies to win 7 |

Windows 7 autostarting apps as administrator Enable the built-in administrator account (disabled by default) and you should be ok. The only other thing I could see being a problem is the group policy: UAC: Admin Approval Mode For The Built-In Administrator Account (disabled by default which is what you want but check it to be sure) |

What's normal Taskbar behavior (windows) Though I agree, I would add that some of the blame for programs that operate like this should be placed on the developers of the individual applications. |

Super slow Western Digial External hard drive @Tim Meers: Really? I don't deal with lots of them, but I've never heard of that. A 2 TB external drive is a plain 'ol SATA HDD in an externally powered enclosure. All of the ones I've seen are metal cases that screw into the drive. |
