@Aahan - so you'll only sorta be violating the TOS, then?

Hehe. In the case of a question where the OS isn't specified, I just default to linux/BSD. They ought to be using that anyway. :)

Understood - that doesn't really matter. Post your question - it'll get answered by and large regardless of the skill level of the OP.

Okay, after you posting this phrase five times (at least) we now are all aware that you're "new to the world of linux". :)

comment Use NIC and WiFi at the same time with VMware on a laptop
VMware is a company. Which product of theirs are you using? Using "VMware" alone is like saying "I'm having a problem with Microsoft". Please update the tags of this question with the appropriate VMware product.

I don't think scalable means what you think it means.

@Luke I dunno, standard simple install I guess. Download it and test yourself. Then you can document the procedure for gramma as well.

@nihinkle - that's odd. The downvote still appears on the deleted answer over at SF. link.

I'd be interested in hearing the reasoning behind the downvote. I thought it was a decent answer.

comment Home Server/NAS solution
@Tom Good point. The failures (and subsequent recovery issues) have led us to move away from NexentaStor. It's a pretty nice product, though, if you know OpenSol or if you pay for their support I'm sure.

comment Home Server/NAS solution
@Tom Shaw - NexentaStor is great and all, but only if you have a modest amount of OpenSolaris chops. We've run into a few situations where things have failed in a very odd way, and it was only by sheer luck that we got things running again. I can recover a linux server in a dozen different ways, but discovered very quickly that OpenSolaris was a very different ballgame.
