comment How to see my own domain from host server?
@Chipperyman - apache running on a workstation OS is either a personal project or development environment, either of which are off-topic.

Your VPN server also need to be configured to NAT for the subnet your VPN clients live in.

Why do you need each file to be able to be decompressed independently? That seems like an odd requirement.

You realize that is going to kill your compression ratio, right?

comment Re-assign IP address for VMWare image that is already running
VMware Player is a desktop virtualization software. Great for dev environments and for testing one-off things, but it's not a topic appropriate for professional systems administration. That's not to say your question is bad, rather it's just off-topic for Serverfault (which is why it got migrated here).

comment Mirroring all router traffic (openwrt) to a snort sensor?
This is a good question, and I'm curious to hear any answers. I've voted to have it moved to Superuser, though, as they're more experienced with consumer gear and alternate firmware like OpenWRT.

Sounds like you're in dire need of a configuration management system.

Development environments are off-topic at Serverfault. Perhaps try StackOverflow.

comment Why do some WiFi routers block multicast packets going from wired to wireless?
This will likely be migrated to Superuser - they deal more with consumer-level gear there.

I've voted to move this over to Superuser, where they deal better with consumer-level gear. Serverfault is for professional environments. Good luck!

comment Port Forwarding on a router to a dynamic IP running Linux
Honestly we're trying to help you. We deal with professional equipment here. Superuser deals much more frequently with home equipment, and they'll be able to give you a better answer. As with all SE sites, do yourself a favor and read the help page before posting to ensure that your question is on topic.

comment Setting up networking on Virtualbox Guest to access Host VPN
Well those likely should be closed or migrated as well. Virtualbox is a desktop virtualization solution, not a proper server virtualization solution.

comment Setting up networking on Virtualbox Guest to access Host VPN
I didn't downvote, but those that did likely did so due to the fact that this is much more of a user question than a sysadmin question. It probably would have been better received over at Superuser.

Why bother troubleshooting? Just re-install with your image. Should be back up and running in an hour...

comment Shrew Soft VPN - “session terminated by gateway”
In that case, I'm afraid this question is off-topic for here. You need to work with the IT departments that manage the VPN servers, as they're the only ones that have authoritative information on how things are configured and how to get your access fixed up.

Are you in control of the VPNs you're connecting to?

comment Why is virtualbox networking using virtio slow (bridged and host-only, Debian)
What @MichaelHampton is hinting at is that VBox is a desktop virtualization solution, akin to VMware Workstation. You should not be running anything of importance on it. There are plenty of other high-performance options out there that should be used instead of Virtualbox. VMware, Hyper-V, XenServer, KVM, etc.

You're going to need OSX installation media, whether on optical media, or downloaded from the app store. There's no getting around that.
