Why are animated gifs so slow on my LAN? I'm glad someone downvoted me without telling me why. What's wrong with my question? |

Why are animated gifs so slow on my LAN? @techie007 - I've read in the stack exchange sites that it is okay to ask a question that you might ask on Google. Besides, I came here to get answers. I've already googled. |

Is there a Such Thing as a Multi-Licensed Multi-Channel HDMI Switch? I really thought I did ask a specific question: Is there a Such Thing as a Multi-Licensed Multi-Channel HDMI Switch? "I'm asking whether there is such a thing and what terminology I would use in order to find it." How much more specific can that be? Am I wrong to expect someone to answer that? |

Is there a Such Thing as a Multi-Licensed Multi-Channel HDMI Switch? Yes, I do have a problem, but that isn't the question I asked. If you are asking for my underlying problem, I'd have to ask a whole set of questions requiring a set of answers to match, and may not be able to ask a good question - which risks me getting negative votes or my question closed. So I've asked a direct question to get a specific answer, and based on the findings, I can narrow down my problem and ask a separate question that is more focused. Am I wrong to think this way? |

Is there a Such Thing as a Multi-Licensed Multi-Channel HDMI Switch? I think that what he mean is that the switch, in order to work optimally, needs to be able to remember that the keys were already investigated, so it doesn't have to check again. The switch I have has to reinvestigate every device each time a new one is added (I think). Have you ever heard of this? |

Is there a Such Thing as a Multi-Licensed Multi-Channel HDMI Switch? @Keltari I did say what is wrong with the current switch - it has to re-register all of the devices every time something is connected or disconnected. I think I need a switch that keeps them all registered. |

Is there a Such Thing as a Multi-Licensed Multi-Channel HDMI Switch? If the AV guy could do this for me, I wouldn't be here asking. He's not really an employee - just a servicing agent for one of the devices. |

Is this HDMI Cable Male to Male? In the FAQ, it says the question must relate to a computer, not just to a mobile device. I think that is why they closed the question. Too bad the folks didn't say just why they closed it. |

Are USB 3.0 ports yellow? I've seen a USB 3.0 port in WHITE as a keystone jack - no, it's just the casing that is white. The inner bar of the port is still blue. |

Which power USB hub uses if it has external power supply as well You are right; the motherboard detects when the power limit has been reached and simply doesn't power any further devices. See here: superuser.com/questions/96563/… |

How to test power capabilities on USB 3.0 hub? Ah, that make sense. So without the power supply, the hub cannot get power for 7 ports from its one-port connection; that is, it only sends 500MA power with 5V to the hub? |

How to get an IP address from a MAC address? Sorry so long to answer... the device is on the LAN (it is an important switch - a Dell PowerConnect 3548), but the arp -a command does not display an IP address for it, and so I can't access it's html interface. I have a similar device of the same model that does have an IP address. Using SoftPerfect NetScan, I can't see it's mac address in the list. But I know the mac address from the back of the switch. |
