@DavidSchwartz thats nonsense, Windows auto mounts volumes all the time. In fact every time you plug in a USB it mounts a volume.

@GuyThomas I was not attacking you :) Was just curious cause I have seen your name somewhere, now that you mention it, its probably for PowerShell. Admittedly, the only reason I knew about the search charm was because I use it in a lot of articles at howtogeek :)

@Ramhound I never said that they don't give you any option at all, what I actually meant was that they could also include an install disc if they don't want to include a partition.

that might be true for one or two OEMs, but certainly not all of them. Some PCs dont even come with a recovery partition.
