comment What function in Bookmarks+ deals with multiple bookmarks with the same name?
My current thoughts are to use bookmark-all-names to generate a list of bookmarks, use 'assoc-string to find a bookmark in that list (and get its record), then use 'memq with that record to produce a truncated list and repeat the search for the same bookmark name (a duplicate) until I find no more duplicates. In each case I would use bookmark-get-filename to test if the file name of the bookmark in the list is the same as my candidate new bookmark. If I exhaust the list of matching bookmarks and don't find a matching file name, I would add the candidate bookmark as appropriate.

I would do this repeatedly, and would use tagging to focus attention on lisp functions of mine that are of current interest.

What's not clear to me yet is how to go to each multiple bookmark with the same name (in lisp code) and test if it is already a bookmark for the lisp function that I've located in code by using my etags file. If the location that I'm at isn't represented by an existing bookmark, then I would like to add a bookmark (via lisp code); otherwise, if it is already represented by an existing bookmark, then I don't want to add a bookmark for that location. I've been studying bookmark+ code as a guide for doing this, but would be thankful for any extra help that comes my way.

revised How to fix Itunes having changed podcast name to “Podcast Error”
found something in the context menu for a podcast that probably would have worked, so mentioned that as well.

revised How to fix Itunes having changed podcast name to “Podcast Error”
found another question/answer that gave a hint as to how to get older podcasts listed in library, so revised my answer to refer to that.

comment How to configure Emacs smtp for using a secure server (gmail)
While investigating how to send email from Emacs via smtp.gmail.com another solution was to use "stunnel" from Cygwin in the same manner that VM uses it to connect to e.g. a POP server. I modified function "smtpmail-via-smtp" in "smtpmail.el" so that it used "stunnel" in this manner and was successful in sending test mails via "smtp.gmail.com:465". For reference, see [stackoverflow.com/q/9694912/1264870] (Reading email from Emacs VM using a secure server (Gmail) [closed]).
