comment HDD not bootable. Folder still exists, but with no data
I did but with no Recuva (never heard of it). Thats how I rescued the data. However, the questions how this has happened and if there is a better way for rescuing remains.

Thanks, Im giving you the point (If I could, dont have enough reputation). However, it turns out that the problem goes a little further ... If I have to start this one: "C:\Program Files (x86)\pdfcreator.exe /IF\"C:\description.ps\" /OF\"C:\description.pdf\"", it refuses to start it. Any idea ?
