comment What tool to build a clients database and agenda?
@DaveParillo: Thanks for your answer. I was meaning by 'linked agenda' either an agenda inside the new tool either a capacity to export event to a calendar application. I was mainly posting this to know if I missed a tool like "database-made-supa-easy-for-beginners"(fictional), but your answer seems to confirm what I thought. Thanks for the links, that's what I was searching for. I too appreciate O'Reilly collection of computing book :)

comment File corrupted BSOD on Windows Vista x64
@nik you can install software inside a session booted from a livecd (as long as their is enough ram/swap in the ramfs), however it won't be there the next time you boot the liveCD. So booting from ubuntu liveC,D if the smartmontools are missing, just use this command: "sudo apt-get install smartmontools" and you will have smartctl available.

comment How do you diagnose ssh connection stalling after SSH2_MSG_KEXINIT?
you could add more details - tell if it works on your home network (you can also test an ssh connexion from the server) and give the full error message of the client (not just the last line - use ssh -vvv), and if possible, post the relevant parts of sshd logs on the server (/var/log/auth.log ... that might be another file depending on your logger daemon config), .... - to satisfy everybody's paranoia, consider modifying your login/host names from your logs.

That might not be a solution there - here is an excerpt from the link you provided: "Keep in mind that all these text messages count as part of your regular mobile messaging plan and might incur fees."

comment How to filter HTML encoded messages in Thunderbird?
So this problem was my mistake, the filter is working, but as I am using an imap account, I needed to setup the account for offline use in order to be able to filter on the content-type (or for filtering on Body)
