I'm a coder/electro-mechanic living in Vienna, Austria.

I've spent my early years with Windows, but migrated to Linux back in '05 and I'm absolutely happy with that.

@AndrewM: What realationship do you mean? That they both are using Gtk3? Or the love/hate between them? By the way, no worries about downvotes on my posts, downvotes are not negative in my opinion.

comment How do I check whether I am using KDE or Gnome?
@AndrewM: True...though, I'm not sure if I should update it or expand it to something more generic...but doesn't get better than the other answers. I'll expand it for the time being and update it...

Are you looking for a completely "reversed" terminal (bottom-up instead of top-down) or for a simple "input line is always at the bottom, results are displayed above it"?

comment Editing a .jar with `vim`
You are aware that jar is basically a zip, and that .class files are Java bytecode files? Meaning they're not text files, but inly data containers and you'd need a decompiled (or a hex editor and a steady eye) to read them.

comment Is it possible to limit SSH access for certain users based on schedule?
Not sure, but changing their login shell to a custom script might work. It will either exec sh at the end, or if it is the wrong time, exec false.

Wait a moment...is your setup like? Are you now using IMAP or POP3? They're pretty much exclusive to a certain extend.

comment Format an external drive with ext4
NTFS and FAT32 are the two most stupid filesystems out there...I would not trust it with my data and I would not trust it if it tells me "everything's cool dude". From here it looks like your harddisk is damaged.

On some laptops the CPU is soldered onto the mainboard to save space...so, you might want to check that first.
