Install telnet? Telnet is like ftp; it comes with windows. Don't know about redirecting the output though.

+1: I do this with all of my accounts. Set them up to forward to your main account, and then work the rules from there. If you permanently download them locally, it kinda kills the point of webmail.

There are a bunch of ways you can do it; I wouldn't want people wandering around in my ~, certainly. But you could just create a folder, and chown it to a common group or something. No need to make a whole user...Just another set of passwords to remember.
