comment New laptop extremely hot
@Diego the MAX temperature is 100C, but I would assume that it would take a lot more work to get it to that level... The "normal" temperature should be around 50C for what I've researched, so getting to 60C-70C just for being idle worries me

comment Windows 8: error when trying to create new user
@David: got it!!!! It was a problem for adding a period in the name!!!! I can't believe that Windows can't detect that and give a warning about it instead some random error message... anyways thank you for suggesting that!

@DarthAndroid it shows a bunch of addresses from the router to the server and at the end "trace complete"

@Ramhound the ISP says that if I have access to other websites then it's not a problem with them, that it's the router

I think that the closest thing would be blocky textures, all the edges seem a little out of place (so not just when there's less resolution that borders are less defined, but also like there's something else going on. It looks like every other line of pixels is a little out of place. There's no blurriness or noise definitely...

thank you, I'll try that as soon as I can. I have a question though: in my network devices I see Intel Centrino Wireless N-6150 and Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. I believe that my laptop uses the first one for wireless conection, do you know what's the second one? Is it the ethernet one?

comment How to get wake on lan to work on Windows 7 laptop?
1, 2 and 4 are OK in my case. For 3, I tried both in hibernated and suspended, I'll try later in complete shutdown, but for what I've read it should work at least in hibernated mode). For 5, you mean connected to the router? I haven't read anywhere that you need to connect it to another computer... And for 6, I'm not sure what that light would be, how do I find out if the nic has power? I don't see any glowing light in my laptop when it's off, only the power light glows when it's suspended

I tried to auto mount that partition using the Storage Device Manager app, but it didn't work, and messed up the fstab file. I have a backup that SDM created (fstab.bak), do you know how can I restore that backup? I can't figure out how to do that...
