comment Does WD Drive Lock encrypt the data?
Two things come to mind if what you've laid out is accurate: 1) One never-changing random key looks suspicious. Who knows if WD keeps backup copies of the keys generated or not? 2) Why not allow encryption of the key itself with the passcode so retrieval becomes impossible for anyone? Leaving key out in the open seems like a backdoor, yet an expensive one, to me.

@Sully I think that happens because that part of Hyper-V probably cannot be started up later on demand. It has to be at the very beginning of kernel initialization.

comment Can you encrypt a hard disk with gpg?
It's certainly much more practical than encrypting each and every file individually and has the same performance.

WinToFlash is completely adware ridden. I wouldn't recommend it.

@grawity: correct but that's even better for what OP asked for.

comment How to delete all files in a directory except some?
It reminded me the same thing. But temporarily moving out of folder may not be a good idea in the era of multitasking :)

comment How to uncompress a 9GB file in Windows FAT32
clever idea and I'm sure that it could be worked out by using correct ffmpeg params (if you have time to discover them)

comment Purpose of a “mystery key” on an IBM PC 3270 keyboard
The key next to it is called "wheelchair guy finally found a shelter key" and the leftmost one is called "solve zeno paradox key". But I've never heard of the one you're asking.
