comment Apple wired keyboard doesn't work being plugged in usb 3.0 port
How old is the Apple Keyboard? The older USB 2.0 keyboards actually had USB 1.1 hubs and maybe that's the problem. In any case, USB 3.0 ports automatically switch to 2.0 when plugged in because the plugs are different.

comment What exactly does the ikeep mount option on XFS do?
XFS is designed to support highly parallel operation and massive dynamically expanding file system sizes. Both are supported by dynamic allocation of inodes.

comment What exactly does the ikeep mount option on XFS do?
It's actually not non-freeing of inodes that causes fragmentation, it's the dynamic allocation of inodes in parallel with allocation of blocks for file data that causes fragmentation. Rather, non-freeing of inodes locks in place any fragmentation caused in the first place.

comment How do access points determine the power of an associated or non-associated client?
Since it is not part of the Wi-Fi standard, there's no standard answer. The tools available totally depend on the specific router, drivers, and Wi-Fi radio hardware you have.

Hey, I said maybe it was unable to run perl on the target, too. :-)

comment Convert a Gmail account from POP to IMAP and keep folder structure?
@Sam, the thing is, you didn't explain your duplication situation. I'm assuming that all the email are duplicated and that you don't have so much email that Gmail won't store the dups. In that case, you upload all the folders and use them and just keep around the zzOldGmail in case one slipped through. When you're satisfied all is good then you move all the zzOldGmail to the trash and you're done.

Hard to make sense of that. You need to put the debug statements in your .emacs file so you can see how tramp configures itself when it loads. Probably tramp is making a bad guess. It might think /home/username is a host name and be trying to connect to that host?Or maybe it's unable to run perl scripts on the target? Just guessing. See if any of the configuration options ring a bell: gnu.org/software/tramp/#Customizing-Completion
