comment How to start the Snort service with logging enabled?
Although you are using snort, this is not a security question but a Linux system admin question.

comment questions about data/encryption of a linux directory
@milesmiles55 The question you need to ask yourself is, what am I protecting myself from by encrypting the drive? When you ask, "is it enough?" you need to define what your goal is. mricon's first sentence is key for you: it will only protect against physical threats, not remote ones.

comment How to open a raw registry file (taken from another computer)?
Your real question seems to be how to open an exported registry system file. That's a Windows admin question and not a security question. If you are asking an autopsy-specific question, then you need to look to vendor-specific sources.

comment nmap recognizes android device not in a scan area of more than 3 ips
I have seen this behavior before with nmap regardless of target. Small IP range scans can produce different results and I never knew why.

comment Is it possible for a client connected to a network to change its subnet to avoid IP filtering through a router?
Unfortunately, this is a basic networking question, not a security one. Note that you should submit a basic drawing of your network before ppl can figure out your design.

comment How do I erase a Samsung Magician encrypted solid-state drive (SSD)?
+1 Wiping is hard, verifying is harder, hardware is cheap.

comment How do I erase a Samsung Magician encrypted solid-state drive (SSD)?
This seems more of a product-specific issue. Try contacting the vendor's customer support?

comment Confusion in use of port number and http
This is off topic here. This is a basic networking question. You make several assumptions that you have not examined, including that a http server only does one thing, and that http is always port 80. Server != Service. Services respond to ports. Servers run Services.

comment Recreating ISO from a live usb
I'm not sure that you can ... If you suspect the usb, you'd have to hash the files and compare to hash of the files on the ISO. Otherwise, wipe the usb and reimage,
