I've tried. This doesn't work, but it showed that there are 3 partitions: the first one (102Mb) it ext3, the second is "RAW" and third is "RAW" too. If I have to go under Linux how should I do? Which program? Thank you for your answer

comment Windows shortcut doesn't work: how to enclose filenames with spaces?
Thank you for your answer, but if I want the window to close (= add && exit) or execute another program via && something else your solution doesn't work... And I want that windows to close as soon as it's finished.

comment How to import “manually” configurations from another hard drive?
What I tried worked (and it's your solution actually), but it needed not only close, but reboot.

comment What does wwws mean?
What? Damn! I've read The trend is to drop these prefixes (e.g. look above: superuser.com instead of www.superuser.com)? Be warned: when optimizing website, you absolutely have to keep this www. Search google for "Use Cookie-free Domains for Components" and you'll get the picture: fast websites very often keep the "www". Be warned!

comment How do you install MSIE7 in Windows 7?
-1 x 20! Just look around, google a bit and you'll see this "IE8 compatibility view" is buggy, and doesn't do what it is supposed to do. Don't rely on this tool at all. Google around and you'll see by yourself.

comment OpenOffice vs LibreOffice - what's the difference?
Thank you for the answer. IMO you should switch to LibreOffice. Oracle tried to acts like a business company, with absolutely no mankind (which is the heart of "free" and "open" source), that's why all the best OpenOffice developpers went away to develop for "free", "open"source, LibreOffice). That's why the next Ubuntu version will include LibreOffice, not OpenOffice. If you want long term support, go for LibreOffice !

comment Windows Seven home edition : how to change from Public network to Private network
Thank you for you comment, I've answered to my own question: this was a hardware problem. The Windows 7 message was the real problem: it was confusing. Thank you again.

It seems it's an hardware problem. So the big problem comes from Windows 7: I've posted my own answer where I explain why Windows 7 gave me bad clues. Thank you very very much for your patience and comprehension. (BTW I had done all what you suggested before posting, because I'm a developper and I have done those kind of stuff many times. The problem was Windows 7 and its "Public network" instead of a simple message "DHCP discovery failed" and for "manual config": a message like "could not connect" instead of going back to "Public network"). Thank you again for your patience and comprehension!

I'm going to do better now : try the Ubuntu Desktop Live ISO. If the DHCP discovery work, it's clearly a 100% Windows problem. If it doesn't it's a hardware problem. That may be a lot faster than re-installing the whole Windows 7 upgrade stuff and re-installing all my software...

Thank you very much for your answer. The problem seems there's either an hardware problem (due to the power cut), because I've done this so many times that it's not normal for it not to work, or a software problem. I've tried alle the different configurations possibles. I've got a nice router I stopped using a few months ago, I've turned it on, turned the DHCP on, plugged both my PC and my laptop, and got the same results : Windows 7 has a problem with both DHCP (no DHCP discovery) and manual configuration. I'm going to re-install Windows 7 and tell you what I've got. Thank you again.

Thank you very (very) much indeed for your answer. ping 127.0.0.1 works. Ping 192.168.1.254 does not work. The DHCP works, because my laptop if configured to get its IP from the DCHP server. And the DHCP server is the FreeBox (I've re-checked that it's "on", and the valid IP addresses distribution are between 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.50)
