comment How to get the time information of the files after find | grep keyword command?
And to elaborate on this the "-ls" option of find gives you an ls like output which might already show you what you need. And if that doesn't work an alternative to find ... -exec is to use xargs. The advantage of xargs is that the results of find are passed to a single instance of the command which is often better for performance. Example: find ./ -name 'tutorial' -print0 | xargs -0 du

comment Quoting original message after conversion from HTML to plain text in Outlook
I am looking for a solution to this problem as well. Reason is I received an email on a mailing list that is a) in HTML format and b) top posted. To fix the top posting I first need to convert it to text. Trying to move part of an HTML message around is terrible, I've not been able to have my reply marked as the "new" message, instead it is marked as being part of the most recent message.

What OS are you running on the server and the clients? What do you want to achieve with this? If you only want to know which machine is up running ping from the server will already tell you that. (Granted ICMP isn blocked by any firewall) And that doesn require any installation on the clients. It is probably also the most universal solution in terms of OS's. But it doesn immediately give you a nice graphical overview. So again please expand your question a bit.

please tag your question with the correct OS. The solution - if there is a software solution to this - will differ per OS.

Please tag your questions with the relevant OS. This kind of behaviour is very different in different OS's.

comment Do PGP private key blocks “contain” the public key as well?
For someone to answer your question you would need to add the commands you use to export your keys. The answer is probably in that. But what would you gain by not exporting the public key? I'd say leave it in your backup routine, it doesn't cost anything and for every purpose where you need only the public key you already have it available.
