Does the PSU have one of those 4-pin connectors? It's probably hanging off the 20-pin connector if there is one, that goes into the last 4 pins on the mobo. Can you boot from anything? For example, could you boot from an install CD or live USB key?

Glad I could help. Would you vote up anything that helped you in the other thread and close this as a duplicate of the other question?

I might have found the answer, see the link I posted in my edit above. It may be the new hard driver after all.

vga.sys is a video driver, NDProxy is a network driver. Since you can see the screen, vga.sys probably isn't the problem. Can you boot into Safe Mode (hold F8 at Windows boot)? I'm not sure how far along you are in the installation process. If that doesn't work, I might have to tap out - I'm pretty much stumped, I've never seen something like this before with a fresh install.

Is the monitor working and plugged in? 9 times out of 10, it's something unplugged.

The size of the disk shouldn't matter. If it did anything, it would cause activation to fail - not something like this. Can you post the actual error message that appears, or the error code?

Very strange. You've confirmed that the iPhone can access the ftp server from outside the network?

You're right, of course - UAC isn't a big deal if you're a savvy user. It does help a little, though, even for power users.

Is this just theoretical or do you are you planning on turning UAC off? If it's just for a few programs there might be workarounds that leave it off in general - Win 7 UAC is s a useful layer of security.

comment IIS 7 FTP access server via ISP's static IP
Oh - I didn't get that from the question. You can access everything correctly from outside the network using the external IP, but not inside the network? Have you used the same device to access the ftp server inside the network with a local IP, outside the network with the external IP, and attempted to access the server (and failed) with the external IP? I want to rule out some problem that's local to a machine, like a machine inside the network not being able to use the external IP at all.

comment How can I make Windows XP bootable again?
Ah, that might be a problem. I don't know any legitimate way to get the files without a CD. Ask your work/ school/ college IT department to borrow one, I bet they have one - boot CDs from later versions of Windows might work, I'm not sure.
