Thanks! Worked for me too, but had to swap the order of the arguments for tar: tar -cvpf - . | (cd destination/directory && tar -xvpf -)

Did you ever figure this out? I'd love to find a way to remap that windows button....

comment Maximum SATA drive size for Intel DP35DP?
@Xavierjazz - so far nothing new. Still trying to figure this out. Am very surprised that the BIOS only sees it as a 750G drive since I have an option in the BIOS to boot from UEFI drives. So the BIOS should have support for it.

I checked and do have the latest BIOS already installed. In fact, when I checked the BIOS options, I had the option to enable/disable boot UEFI drives (I have it turned off). I still would have expected the BIOS to recognize it as a 3T drive.

comment Automount SMB share when NAS becomes available
Is there a way to use a password from the keychain instead of specifying it in the auto_xxx config file? I've created a separate question for it here: superuser.com/q/812582/130030

What is "-fstp"? According to the docs, shouldn't that be -fstype=smb? Additionally, why is there a : before the url? The man page shows 'smb -fstype=smb //guest@smbserver/share' as an example

comment Start configured VPN from command line (OSX)
Any wait to get scutil to wait until the connection is complete before returning? I need to run a script once the connection is established, but scutil returns too quickly and the following command is executed before the connection is established.

Just tried this in Lion (10.7.5) and it works great. Just not documented in the man pages. Thanks!
