comment Router makes internet go slower
Well, pinging the router works fine (1 ms), but I tried with a couple of websites and got an average of around 400 ms and a couple of RTOs. What does that mean? Also, sadly I can't use the old router right now, I don't have its power cable.

comment Windows 7 black screen, may be a hardware issue
Also, I managed to run System Restore from the recovery menu you get by pressing F8 and selecting the first option, and it told me that there's a problem with one of the disks, and I should try run chkdsk /r on it. I did that, and it said it was OK.

@martineau: I managed to boot into regular Windows (not Safe Mode) by disabling the dispay adapters (for some reason, there are two identical ones) in Safe Mode. Device Manager just says "The device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"

comment Do a wireless router's range and power depend only on the antenna?
@Matt: But will a better router, all else being equal, provide a better signal? Or would you go as far as to say that a router will be wasted if the other devices are not very good?

Well, of course I would get a router with detachable antennas.

comment Is there any way to use a display resolution higher than the max?
Well, it's been quite some time now (more than two years, in fact). I have a bigger monitor now. But thanks for the input anyway.

comment How to install Windows 7 without a DVD drive?
But the installer is 64 bit. It doesn't work in Windows XP 32 bit, as far as I can tell.

What's funny is, this made me realize that I can take the DVD drive from another computer and put it in just to install Windows 7. I know that this sounds too complicated, but I want to get this done and don't feel like buying something extra.

I mentioned that I don't have a large enough USB drive.

Actually, I am (or I think I am, anyway) pretty tech savvy. I just had never heard of PXE. And I do have another computer in the network, I forgot to mention that.

Do you mean accessing the DVD from over the network and running the installer from inside Windows XP? I'm not sure I can do that, the installer is 64 bit.

@Col: Please post that as an answer so I can accept it, it's going to be the easiest thing to do right now.

comment How to select values within defined ranges and match them against others?
Yeah, that and the fact that you missed the End Selects. I should also add that if you drag both "Hours of Study" and "Hours of Work" to the Sum/Sigma box, you'll get everything duplicated. You only need one.

It almost worked. I'll suggest an edit to make it work and then accept it. Thanks!

I'll check this out tomorrow and let you know if it works. Thanks.

comment Can you run one virtual machine inside another?
It seems it actually works. After all, if I needed speed I wouldn't be using Bochs in the first place. While not the most upvoted, I feel your answer is the more complete and to the point, so I'll accept it.

@AUAnonymous: I know that, but I want to keep running Windows.

To your second edit: So if I'm just going to be running Bochs (and I don't care too much if it's slow), do I need to worry about the KVM thing?

I understand that it's likely to be complicated, but what exactly do you mean by "not very feasible"?

comment EasyCap USB 2.0 produces BSOD in Windows 7 64bit
@Synetech: After reinstalling Windows for unrelated reasons, it now works. I still have a couple of issues, but I think those happen in Windows XP too.
