comment How can I give my wife emergency access to logins, passwords, etc.?
@SevaTitov, you're missing "to keep the servers paid for and operational long enough" part. If DMS suddenly go down, your ancestors will be left with useless pile of bytes without any means to decrypt it.

comment Disable “Do you want to allow this webpage to access your Clipboard” message
I'd really appreciate if you'd note how dangerous "silently allow" option really in front on your answer. Because just one malicious site in allowed list means "bye-bye all the passwords from password manager that are conveniently extracted through clipboard".

comment Can ms dos list all files and directory (including hidden ones)
@Ramhound, show me "Windows" in question and I think about explicitly mentioning them. "d, r, h, s, a", if it is not plainly obvious to somebody, are "all attributes", mentioned in previous sentence. Also, what additional uses except requested, quoting: all files, you propose to me to list?

Doesn't f.Name have name sans extension, so you don't need last & "." & ext?

comment How to securely generate memorable passwords?
@Tim, with this policy you can afford to generate few memorable passwords, gaining strength through length, without fear that you'll just forget them.

comment Using Toshiba 22EL833 as PC display through HDMI input
Phase/position settings is not applicable, because I'm using HDMI input and they only affect VGA. I did contact them (Russian support though, didn't try global one yet) and response was: "we can't guarantee it will work with every PC. Try using another PC (gee, thanks!) or go to service".

comment Caching in modern browsers sucks, why and how to fix?
@MSalters at very least you'll have tell me how to create another "guest" account on public, but otherwise restricted and secure box. However, this is not the main issue. There are thousands of reasons author of site might want to instruct browser not to cache data and thousands of ways things can break horribly if you use heavy magicâ„¢ to deliberately make browser ignore this. Just don't do it.

comment Caching in modern browsers sucks, why and how to fix?
I'd really hate if somebody came to PC after I've used my online banking, clicked "go offline" and "back"'ed all the way to card details. It is not browsers, it is sites that instruct browser what they can cache and what they can't.

comment How can I turn off backspace navigation in Chrome?
Unfortunately, this extension completely replaces backspace, disabling not only "go back", but "delete text in text field" functionality too.

Did you expect magic? Your image clearly have more than 256 colors. Posterize it to reduce amount of colors first.

comment How do I compress a directory?
7z uses AES encryption with SHA-256 x 2^19 key. How is that not "properly designed scheme"?

comment Backing up Nokia 6300 phone
Yes, know about Noki too. Too bad that it can't export all this mess to some more accessible format, so I'd have choice of software to view/search/otherwise process data.

comment Backing up Nokia 6300 phone
Yes, I've mentioned that I've used older versions. Indeed PC Suite is much less cluttered with useless bells and whistles, but one monolithic .nbu backup is still unwieldy.
