@kreemoweet The partition is not bootable. Thats just what Windows puts in the boot sector of all NTFS partitions.

comment How to protect copying files out of flash memory?
The only real solution is to make your own flash drive that works in USB ports, but doesn't follow the USB standard. (use different port numbers internally). However, even that could be worked around if someone really wanted to.

@Renan well, it will block deleting or writing to the drive ("but they're not allowed to copy of delete any of the files...)

I wrote my own linux distro which mounts the drive and rips the C:/Users/* folder. It essentially bypasses the locks on the filesystem that Windows itself puts on it. Changing the statement from if it can be read to if it can be accessed.

About HxD, I thought HxD uses a libATA that communicates directly to the SATA without the OS. Also direct drive writes work with HxD on flash drives (that's all I've tested)

comment What monitor specifications should be taken into consideration to avoid eye problems?
I like VGA for my 1280x1024 development monitor screen. Plus VGA is analog, not digital, so I made a 20 foot cable that plugs Ito my TV when I want to work there.

Use public private key encryption. It's really the only way to guarantee it's not been tampered with or seen

comment I can't boot to Ubuntu after installing Windows 7
That is because Windows uses a proprietary bootloader, not GRUB.

comment 4K sectors transition: Why are hard drives moving to 4096 byte sectors, vs. 512 byte sectors?
I thought it was the hard drive hardware that emulated it not bios
