comment Why can't connect with second computer in same LAN and settings?
You might have another computer on the network that has the same IP, try pinging the IP you received when you were on DHCP, that might give you a clue. Remember that unless you limit the DHCP range, mixing static/dynamic IPs can lead to a real mess, since the DHCP server won't think twice about handing out an IP that's configured as a static IP on another machine.

comment How to disallow redirects to specific sites?
What are you trying to solve specifically? Are you trying to write an application, or are you looking for something for yourself for when you're browsing around the internet?

comment Does Chrome use WinInet?
You might find what you need here: chromium.org/developers/design-documents/network-stack It does look like they still use the winInet for proxy resolution: chromium.org/developers/design-documents/network-stack/…

comment add private hostname to dns
@RedGrittyBrick's solution should work, if you weren't using DHCP, AFAIK, you have to set the DNS manually on all machines.

comment How to run .sh file from anywhere on MacOSx
Yup, hope that helped! Keep in mind that the PATH is order dependent to, so when you run a command, it will look for the command in the folder in the order specified by the PATH environment variable (to view just run echo $PATH), meaning if you have 2 commands with the same name, the PATH order will determine which is run.
