comment Why is Process Explorer reporting activity in non-existent dedicated GPU memory?
This is a lower-end machine, definitely no extra GPUs there. Device Manager confirms this. The miners are probably just reporting the CPUs as GPus where the Winterpark is a real GPU.

@nodakai Not a dupe in my opinion, I'm aware of what Dedicated GPU memory is. The problem is that I'm sure I have none as the spec sheet specifies I have none, and dedicated memory is, by convention, not put into cheaper laptop integrated GPUs. That is why I am asking this question.

comment Secured Directory creation in Linux
@Vijay So the answer is you can't with 100% certainty, without hardware write protection. Say that if asked again.

@DevSolar It's an old drive being mounted as /tmp and I am too cheap to get a drive right now...

It has very much to do with drivers as Chrome may use OpenGL and hardware acceleration.

comment Why does performance of a regular hard drive decrease over the duration of a benchmark while SSD doesn't?
Everybody addresses the hard disk, but nobody speaks of the SSD :-)
