comment How do you gunzip a file and keep the .gz file?
Ah, thanks Jacob! @paxdiablo, could you edit the answer so it gives an example of the -k function? (savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=7623 , paragraph "New features")

comment memory specs say “4 x DIMM Max. 32GB DDR3” - what does this really mean
Disabling pagefile is bad advice, page. You should set min./max. size for pagefile instead. See lifehacker.com/5426041/…

comment Forgot password - Rescue Disk does not work
@EBGreen, Moab: According to truecrypt.org/docs/?s=rescue-disk (especially 3rd point) the rescue disk is able to decrypt the data using the old password. Strictly speaking, this is a security flaw which is why there's a warning about it, but it's possible to decrypt data with an old password (the password used for the rescue disk) indeed.

comment How to diagnose incomplete Backups?
I count this as a workaround (edited the answer to clarify it), but as Windows Explorer and most applications won't do this, you'll get unaccessible files which is even worse than not being able to extract the backup.
