comment Need a laser printer solution to print text sent via ACSII drivers
Look into PCL and/or PS - most HPs (or equivalent) should be able to translate those files into an output. Also, most printers connected via Parallel or Serial port will accept plain text, with the form feed character (ASCII 12) ejecting the page

comment VBS script won't launch without extension even though it's in PATHEXT
For the runbox, it involves external programs, or editing the registry @ HKLM\\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths (see here for more details)

Take a look at the output of the setting of each command, and see if it matches yours

try executing without the switches that specify engine and remove the splash line: VBSFile="%%SystemRoot%%\System32\WScript.exe" "%%1" %%* - also, may need only one % sign, rather than the doubling %% I show.

sorry - I should have clarified.. Yes, these go into the command line, and are a one time deal.

comment Can't access websites with .me domain
check your DNS settings - If Starbucks allows you to override them, try 8.8.8.8 (Google) or 208.67.222.222 / 208.67.220.220 (Open DNS)

comment Excel Using Reference for Worksheet names
note also that it will expect the full name - workbook would not work, you would have to put workbook.xlsx - If the file is closed, you would need the full pathname: C:\Users\MyName\Documents\workbook.xlsx

comment How to skip empty cells while counting instances of days-of-the-week
Weekday returns #VALUE! if there is text in the range (and it will return #NUM! if there is a number that cannot be a date, i.e. outside the range 0-2,958,465)

@FrankThomas, added code. I do not have access to view or edit the function itself, but I added the code and connection information

comment excel sql server error: Invalid object name
the function works correctly in SQL Server, but if I put it into an excel data connection, I get the error. The manipulation is actually taking a time field, and rounding down to the nearest half hour

comment excel sql server error: Invalid object name
@FrankThomas, can I set no count from an excel data connection? The naming of the column is only for readability, but removing it has no effect on the response from excel

excel stores relative links only when the path is on the same drive. see this for further info

comment Alphanumeric cell format (using custom format)
A shortcut to make a 5 character zero padded string would be right("00000" & splitstring(1),5) - no loops or extra variables needed. Your entire string construct would be splitstring(0) & "\" & Right("00000" & splitstring(1), 5) & "\" & Right("00000" & splitstring(2), 5)

squarefree.com/bookmarklets/zap.html#force_wrap may help - it's an old site, so Chrome is not listed, but many of these bookmarklets work in (almost) all browsers
