comment How to enable Bluetooth in Mac with shortcut or command line?
Following some instructions elsewhere, I unplugged everything from the iMac, plugged back just the power cord, and then switched it on. That worked (after a short delay at the login screen when it appeared not to).

But what if you don't have a wired keyboard or mouse - only Bluetooth ones? As far as I can tell the computer won't enable Bluetooth even with a reboot.

comment Windows 8.1 VM: full resolution on iMac Retina 5K (5120 x 2880) and VMware Fusion 7
I changed Scaled high resolution to All View Modes, rebooted the VM, but still no higher resolution available. This is VMWware Fusion 7.1.1 downloaded and installed yesterday, OS X 10.10.2 last updated 2015-01-31 (no newer updates are available AFAIK). Windows 7 x64 SP1 installed from DVD.

How do you get the full resolution? 2560x1920 is the highest I see available, even though I have 'Use full resolution for Retina display' enabled (it was the default setting). This with Windows 7 x64 running inside VMWare Fusion 7.1.1.

If the product specs supports 5k then it supports 5k. But the dual property is not true. There are many video cards which work with 4k monitors despite the product specs not listing it, and at least some (such as the Nvidia NVS 510) which support 5k without problems despite the specs giving a lower resolution. The UP2715K appears as two screens of 2560x2880 resolution. I would be most surprised if the GTX 980 didn't work.

The thing is, the "max resolution" in the specifications page is often wrong. For example, I used to run twin 3840x2400 screens from a pair of GTX 550 cards. But the specs for that on Nvidia's site say the max res is 2560x1600. There are many other examples of where the specs page understates the card's capabilities (see NVS 510/310 discussion below). The real issue is that a DisplayPort output, not DVI, is needed to drive these newer monitors. It can certainly do 3840x2400 over DVI.

That page is not correct. The NVS 510 works fine to drive the UP2715K, despite a "max digital display support" in that page of 3840x2160. Also, the NVS 310 works fine to drive 4k monitors such as the UP2414Q, despite the page saying its max is 2560x1600. Since the page is wrong about those things, I would caution against using it to determine whether the UP2715K will work with the NVS 310. My hunch is it will.
