I've worked in the IT field since 2005, learning more and more as I go along. Through the years I've broken my computers countless times, fixed them just as much and have served many customers in different IT jobs. After being unemployed from my last IT job due to the slow economy, I've started my own IT business. Since then I've learned more than I ever though I would have. Right now I'm studying for my CompTIA A+ Certification.

comment Skype, Netflix, Minecraft causing CPU to be 100% and not go down without restart
I'd agree that the graphics card is a limiting factor if it wasn't for this issue only just starting (The graphics card has been sufficient for over a year).

There's only one antivirus installed, Avast! Free. Malwarebytes doesn't run unless I want to specifically do a scan. It shouldn't be a heating issue, as all temps read in acceptable ranges (Around 50-60 C).

Thanks for the advice. I have Windows Firewall and Avast! Free antivirus on it. Both didn't give issues before replacing the motherboard. The computer does not make a whirring sound. I already re-applied thermal compound to the CPU in hopes that would help. I put on a generous amount of Arctic Silver.

It seems to spread out. For example, one application will take 30%, another will take 40% until there's nothing left. The applications that take it after the apps are closed are mostly random, but I notice AuidoDG.exe (Something of that sort) takes a lot most of the time when this occurs. Other times anything that's open takes it, for example HiJack this was taking 80% when it was just sitting open.

Skype under normal circumstances uses around around 20% in a call. When this issue starts it jumps to 100%

It is not application specific, just the 3 applications I listed seem to cause it on a regular basis.

@FiKo If you'd read the message, it said it started after replacing the motherboard. Worked fine before that.

They are not being ran all at once, any of these apps cause it to happen. I'll clarify that in the original message.

Do you have another slot to put the graphics card in? It could be a faulty slot. Could also be it got damaged in the time that he took it out of his machine and you put it in your machine.

You say when you use the built-in graphics card that the colors show up fine? If that's the case, it's most likely the graphics card and not the monitor. If uninstalling the driver didn't fix it, try replacing the card. If it's under warranty, you will probably get it replaced for free.

When you say the colors didn't appear, did you mean it's working correctly or it's continuing to not work? Also, what step that I recommended did you take? Let me know and I can try to help you further.
