@OzgunSunal Yes, you don't need port forwarding because the client (you) starts the upload process (see first and second paragraph in section 2 of my answer). It doesn't matter if you upload or download a file, what matters is who starts establishing the initial connection - this is typically done by the client and not by the server.

What do you mean with "shell access to a web server?" Do you need access to a web server (e.g. port 80)? Do you need shell access (say: ssh - port 22) to a system running a web server? Is the server running at home, e.g. behind a firewall/router? Please specify a little more.
