I'd bet the OP isn't using MS-DOS (and probably never has either).

comment Incompatibility SSD vs bios?
"Could a BIOS update have effects?" - If you're asking whether a BIOS update might fix this issue, the answer is: possibly. No harm in trying as long as you don't mess up the flashing process.

"the bios correctly understand the new device but I can't see it in boot options" - So the SSD does show up in the BIOS but just not in the boot order menu?

comment Best way to backup and restore system image for laptop on Windows XP
There is no single "best" method. There's also no dearth of disk imaging utilities. Just try a few and use whatever you like.

comment Recursively delete files that match file name (PowerShell script)
@Tup: Regardless of whether it is your own solution or you just copy-pasted what someone else wrote in a now deleted answer, the point is that the solution does not belong along with the question. Moreover it was a simple suggestion regarding how this site is structured, and not a so-called "elitist assumption". Just because an answer you accepted was deleted for some reason doesn't mean its contents are to be added to the question, got it?

comment Focus and close application by ID
Yes, most likely the loop's causing the issue. Try the simplified script and see if it works for you. You can replace the x in the last line with r if you want to restore instead of maximize.

comment Focus and close application by ID
Ok, give me some time please. BTW, on my system the minimized window's taskbar button lights up showing it has received focus, but there's no flicker and I can easily click on and switch focus to other windows. Not sure what's causing the problem on your system.

Minimized windows can actually receive focus while remaining minimized. If you want the minimized window to be un-minimized/restored along with receiving focus, let me know and I'll see what can be done about it.

comment Is there any way to automatically decrease subwoofer volume at night?
Just create a scheduled task that invokes SoundVolumeView /LoadProfile [Filename] at the time you want. Regarding muting the subwoofer, if that doesn't work with your setup for some reason then just save a profile with the subwoofer volume set to 0.
