Can you post some screenshots or try to locate where in your BIOS all your channels are listed one per line like "SATA1: WDC-SOMETHING1234", "SATA2: CD DRIVE". Each one of this can be turned off independently (in case you are using AHCI to map drives, not "legacy mode" or "IDE compatible").

Because they are not there. The systems transparently 'shows' this files in desired location depending whether the app is 32-bit or 64-bit.

That's fun, but you can't remove search functionality from Windows. You just can enable or disable it. I still wonder would disabling be sufficient to clear indexes.
