comment Is it possible to install PowerShell 3 on a Windows Server 2003 or 2003 R2?
I've investigating how much work it will be to migrate the machine, as opposed to adapting the scripts with Poshcode/Jaykul modules (of which many have external dependencies that I'd need to check first). It's about the same order of magnitude, so I'll be migrating the machine earlier. In the mean time, a different machine will run the scripts and access the required data over a network share.

comment Hooking Linux machine to secondary router/ISP: how to setup routing correctly?
@DavidMackintosh in the future I will. This is temporary: fiber is actually DSL, and going to move to a different fiber address. The machine is DNS and MX, so I want it to be accessible from two ISPs to have continuity as I'm not sure if DSL will be shutdown before or after fiber becomes active.

Yast seems out for doing complex routing and route seems to be deprecated in favour of ip. See opensuse.14.x6.nabble.com/yast2-advanced-routing-td3083578.html and suse.com/documentation/sles11/book_sle_admin/data/…

Just found an interesting answer at unix.stackexchange.com/a/23345/69111 which I'm investigating to see if it applies to my case, and how to implement it using yast.

comment Is it possible to install PowerShell 3 on a Windows Server 2003 or 2003 R2?
Thanks. 1 wasn't what I hoped for, but the Poshcode looks promising (well, the ones not requiring too many assemblies). I might go for the built-in .NET Object though. Need to give this some thinking, as depending on the amount of time, I might migrate the server to a more modern Window as well.

@EBGreen which .MSU file would you suggest, and how should I install it on Windows Server 2003?

comment Windows 8.1: what to do when the “sidebar” on the right side of the screen appears and hangs?
Uninstalling the video driver didn't fully work. What did work was uninstall VMware Tools, then reinstall the same version of VMware Tools. Still not sure why, but after two weeks without problems, it is solved.
