comment How to hide device from guest OS on VMware workstation?
Problem is the VM is not using much resources in the host. It uses 1/16 RAM and runs on a single core and is on a different harddrive from music storage. When the VM is running at 100% while building stuff, there is no problem with the host EXCEPT with the music player (USB audio device). I have numerous other applications running on the host without problem.

comment Fake anti-virus?
The point is I'm using my own computer and will secure it however I want. I've never used an AV and never had a problem. On the other hand I've seen botnets of thousands of computers with every assortment of AV installed. You tell me how effective they are.

Yes my IT department requires it. I'm sure it's necessary for secretaries and such and it's fine on their own hardware, but when running a VM at home and it's sluggish enough without AV.
