comment How to launch Windows Explorer with the privileges of a different domain user?
When you run as the other user, it will run as a separate program. You do not need Explorer’s /separate option because that will launch an isolated copy of Explorer that won’t share with others. If you want a second Explorer window you need to rerun the command line step as you did the first.

comment After enabling FIPS on Windows 7, connection to XP MOde and XP Remote Desktop stops working
I haven't revisted this in a while. Thanks for the information. But shouldn't the native XP environment with FIPS enabled work with FIPS on the Windows 7 machine? Is there some other area I needed to tweak?

revised What are the command extensions for CMD's COLOR command?
The original explanation didn't directly address the question as to what enabling the extensions did for the COLOR command. I added the first line that explains what the example later in the answer shows.

The body of your answer provides backgorund as to enabling or disabling the extensions and not how it affected the COLOR command. It was the example with it off that showed the COLOR command is only available with the extensions on. I edited the answer to put that up front.

@David - The only reason was to help protect my desktop from outside users. I turned it on when I pointed my router at the machine so I could get outside access when I'm on the road. I can take the steps of turning it on and off as well as disabling the router link.
