comment Word allows users to create nested controls even during protection enforcement. Workaround?
Are the content controls read by software of yours? If so, would it be possible to just make your program more resilient to this problem?

I don't have any experience with Word for Mac but just to make sure, did you fix this line? ActiveDocument.SaveAs FileName:=strPath, FileFormat:=wdFormatPDF. Do you still get the same error?

comment MS Word 2010 - How do I create a universal macro that will auto-insert a header if none exists?
How would you like the marco to be enabled? Automatically on document open or through a certain key combination or button on the toolbar?

@Ramhound, In that case you must be right and all other information on the subject out there is wrong.

@Holene, Yes I did some reading and it looks like the method SaveAs2 is only supported on Word 2010 and above, so I have made an edit to use the SaveAs method instead (pretty much the same thing), give it a try. Take note about the required version of Word 2007 as described above though.

@Ramhound, Then you don't properly understand the question. Office 2013 can open PDF documents but that has nothing to do with what Holene is asking for and why did you mention it after talking about saving as PDF as that makes no sense either? He wants a PDF copy along side the original DOCX. Microsoft Word 2007 SP2 and up do include built-in rendering to PDF that doesn't depend on having Adobe products installed. Oh yeah, kindly drop the attitude.

@Ramhound, Your comment was incorrect, I think you meant "save" instead of "open". Also MS Word 2010 and MS Word 2007 SP2 can both save direct to PDF just like MS Word 2013.

Not a problem, please see this page for an explanation of the two and how to use the Style inspector to find which one your imported text uses.

Is the imported text given different styles, or is it all direct formatting?

@Ramhound, This should work with any version of Word via macro since only a copy in PDF is needed when the DOCX file is saved, not editing of the PDF file itself.
