comment Official way to copy a user profile from a local account to a domain account
@Ƭᴇcʜιᴇ007: Your second link helped, thanks. It's MS officialy telling me to use easytransfer. Earlier, I only found sources of random internet guys saying that. Thanks.

@CharlieRB: The cited Technet pages are actually wiki articles written by other users, not official microsoft documentation. Also, I doubt fiddling in the registry will work on larger rollouts seemlessly.

comment Official way to copy a user profile from a local account to a domain account
@Techie007: EasyTransfer copies the files to an easytransfer file and then to the target users profile which needs free space on the internal hard drive of the twice size of the old users profile. For large profiles, I would need to use an external harddrive which might be even slower than copying all the files locally. I thought of a solution which just moves the files.

comment Auto-Update personal outlook contacts on GAL changes
In the account settings, I see only SharePoint set up, so I suppose I have that Outlook Social Connector. But still, the contact details don't get updated in outlook or my smartphone when I change them in the GAL. (I can see them changed when I open the GAL in outlook, but not in my personal contacts)

comment How to get better video quality in Lync?
@JulianKnight Intel HD Graphics from 2010 in 45nm, no idea what generation this is. According to this: blog.schertz.name/2013/05/hd-video-lync-2013 I looked up in dxdiag and found no DXVA2_ModeH264_VLD_NoFGT in there, this means encoding in lync isn't hardware accelerated. I also have a VideoEncodeScore in my '%Windir%\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore' of 6.9. If I match this against the second table here: technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj688132.aspx I found out that I can only encode 640x360 while I can decode 1920x1080. So I need better graphics hardware.

comment How to get better video quality in Lync?
@JulianKnight Are there guidelines on computer hardware for realtime fullhd-encoding and broadcasting for lync? I only found this: blog.schertz.name/2011/10/hd-video-in-lync I never thought this is an issue today. The hardware is dell latitude e6520 with core i5-cpu and 8gb ram.

comment How to always show the apps title bar in windows 8.1 update?
for me, the title bar appears when i move the mouse at the top of the app on a no-touch-device (dell notebook), so i assume it doesn't depend on the device?

comment Same certificate for encryption for different To:-addresses
@Ramhound Is having two certificates (one for each address) the only solution? This would mean there is no way to tell Outlook to mind the subjectAlternativeName-Field. We use PEM as a certificate format.

comment Same certificate for encryption for different To:-addresses
Suppose I make a certificate with two mail addresses, IIRC the other one goes to the subjectAlternativeName-Field. How do I tell Exchange to mind this? Everything I tried had no effect. Any experience?

i tried plugging in another usb mouse when windows showed the login screen. that didn't work. i suppose it also wouldn't work with the mouse already attached.
