comment How to make a Start Screen icon for Notepad that will always open a new Notepad when clicked in Windows 8?
In fact, this is usually the quickest way (for me) to make a new instance of an already running app. Opening the Start Screen, finding the app (however conveniently placed it may be) and Shift-Clicking it seems needlessly complicated (though I'm glad I've learned of it) compared to right-clicking the taskbar and clicking on "New whatever".

comment How does SATA port multiplication work?
It should be noted that (unless you're playing in the on-drive cache) the bandwith on a SATA 2 connection (300MB/s) and up are mostly overkill on a current mechanical drive. So you should be safe duplicating to about 5 drives on a SATA II. 10 on a SATA III. SSDs excluded of course.

comment What does “LFF SATA” mean?
That's really it?? Can I just cram a consumer 2.5" drive in one of those fancy SFF drive bays and it'd work? (I know of the reliability and such difference between server drives and consumer drives)

Way back when, I tried to put 16 MB of RAM into a system that only support 8MB. It booted and showed me I had 8 MB of RAM. I was sad because that was a lot of money in those days. Carmaggeddon ran great though ! I mean, CorelDraw, yeah, that's what it was for...

comment What is hyper-threading and how does it work?
95% correct. If a normal core = A + B then a hyper-threading core is more like A + 2 x B. They CAN execute two threads simultaneously as long as both threads don't need A.

comment Running threads on a non hyper-threading Intel processor
I find it hard to understand what acidzombie24 is trying to say. If I read everything it seems correct, but I can't seem to get his point. I doubt this is caused by my mental capacity (or lack thereof).

comment How can I configure my Server 2012 Hyper-V lab setup with NAT?
And you can do this twice. Once for your Wifi, once for your LAN connection. Then add both internal networks to your VM and you have internet no matter which one is "active".

comment What is the “§” key for on an Apple keyboard?
Just as a comment, my Belgian run-of-the-mill Azerty keyboard has the §-key as well (it's under the 6). Like here (though this isn't my keyboard) typematrix.com/shop/images/products/…

comment How to download a URL as a file?
I'm repeating this here from a comment by Peter Morgensen down below: There is also a stand-alone wget for Windows (Cygwin is not needed) - so wget can be used from BAT files. A direct download URL is: users.ugent.be/~bpuype/wget/wget.exe
