comment Windows Bacup Image - on live system?
It took me 2 reads to understand the question. I think your saying since it takes time to create an image there can be no guaranteed that files (system files, config files etc) will be in the same state (will not have changed) between the start of taking the image and the end of taking an image. You are asking either how they do it, or if it's safe. Is this what you're asking?

comment Working on battery until is runs out fixes my laptop
I've had this issue recently as well (very similar), you often don't need to "exhaust the battery", just removing the battery does the trick (if your laptop permits it)

Down votes seem unfair here. OP clearly researched, and isn't complaining, he's researched and is just trying to understand

comment Mendeley italicise species name in the title
What I mean is, copy it into a program like notepad++ and use regex to surround the species with i tags this, then copy it back (assuming you have a list of species you want this to apply to) ?

comment Dropped laptop lcd screen
The problem is you dropped it and broke it. Maybe cable is loose (doubtful), or some thing is broken inside. Take to a repair shop, it's too hard for us to know what is broken as we can't see it 😢

I'm not sure I understand the question, but many text editors will accept CTRL+I

Questions seeking product, service, or learning material recommendations are off-topic because they become outdated quickly and attract opinion-based answers. Instead, describe your situation and the specific problem you're trying to solve.

comment Change color of row according to column value (by regex)
Your idea of changing the colour has potential issues with VBa. After you've changed the colour, it doesn't just change back! This means you've changed the rows with .com in... You then insert a new row and run the code again, unless you tell it too, it won't chnage the highlighted colours back. howtogeek.com/howto/45670/…

comment Change color of row according to column value (by regex)
Did you try conditional formatting? There are many tutorials and you may have more luck, unless you specifically want to learn VBa? The link I have shows how to use it, also see superuser.com/questions/801609/how-do-i-add-vba-in-ms-office

Why not conditional or instr techonthenet.com/excel/formulas/instr.php ... It will probably be easier to maintain
