you can probably also moutnt the vmdk in a mannter that would allow the image software to directly read it from the host jsut depends on how the image software is.

comment Minimal backup for Windows 7 system recovery
forgot to mention 1 thing. The full backups will keep any annoying quarks to your system as well. If you have the system just the way you like it and theres no annoying bugs etc its great. but if theres this one program you always have to open a specific file run a specific button ... and then start using it as normal that will also be brought along with every thing else. depending on how complex your setup is and how specific your tastes are you may also do well with a full image at the time it works perfect and then reinstall data and newer apps from there.

comment Does this exist: software for noise cancellation
as mentioned getting a nice set of headphones would make a huge difference both in general sound quality and in noise blocking. that means the type that covers beyond the ear not the ear bud type speakers. a relitive of mine got me some really nice ones one time as a present and i was astonished at the difference.

comment New Motherboard doesn't POST? Can't seem to solve the beep code puzzle
try 1 stick in slot 1 if it doesnt boot try stick2 and see if its any different. if not its probably not the memory. it may also be possible to test in a known good system as well. cpu you will be hard pressed to test unless you have another system around to swap with. I am not the type to swap cpu's though they have to many pins that are easily bent. It all ends up in if msi decideds to play games when you try to rma it. If you cant say it is .. causing the problem its not unusual for you to get the run around from support.

comment New Motherboard doesn't POST? Can't seem to solve the beep code puzzle
many things can cause the no boot situation. unfortunatly with as pathetic if existant the post beeps are in msi you will probably spend the least by getting a post card that will have a newmeric readout and a code book that tells you exactly what the pc is doing. If you happen to have spare parts or can borrow things like a cruddy old video card its a way to get around not having a post code reader. in my case i have about 10 carcases that i can steal parts from to test. as long as slot1 on your system board isnt dead memory can be tested to.

comment Outlook 2010 - using a VBA script in a rule
in the vba editor open the ThisOutlookSession and create a Public sub as rhys mentioned. inside the sub goes your code. make sure to put a proper end on the sub as well. after the code is developed then one of the menu's has a compile and run option. once it is compiled it will show up in outlook as an option. Im assuming you are trying to use it in a rule. if so after the script is compiled it will be available in the custom script action in rules.

comment Trouble getting external monitor to connect to laptop
Starting with the lid closed is your best shot. fn f8 cant always properly switch over. I was working on a laptop fridy that a user cracked the lcd. If i didnt either shut the case or fn f8 at the boot menu from bios it wouldent display on the external monitor. dell's can be touchy about which display they use. also if that doesnt matter then the video card/systemboard is shot. the lattitudes have a buit in card with a daughter card for the side ports including video. the precisions have a seperate video card that is replaceable even then we some times have to do both systemboard and vid.

comment IP Helper Virus?
if you make a recovery cd that has several known good antivirus programs on it that are up to date you may be able to catch whats causing the issue by booting from another source.
